Order Passeriformes
Family Wren (Troglodytidae)

Signs: The size of an adult bird is 16 cm.
It is the only wren species found in the Greater Antilles. These birds are almost unable to fly. Cuban wrens were discovered to science only in 1926, and by 1974 they had become extremely rare. Any additional work to drain the large Zapata swamp can kill the wrens, and with them two other feathered endemics of this area - the shepherdess Cyanolymnas cerverai and the porridge Torreornis inexpectata.

Spread: The area is the Zapata swamp (Cuba). Habitat: least damp forested areas in the middle of a vast swamp.

An unusual and rare bird. And the size is noticeably different in comparison with the European one. Gennady, thank you for the interesting information.
